Way Up
Climb, keep climbing, do not touch the spikes. Way Up is a vertical platformer built around a combo you are always one mistimed jump away from losing — which makes it a game about restraint as much as reflex.
What it measures
Timing and route reading, plus the nerve to slow down when a combo is worth more than the seconds it costs.

How a round works
- 01
Jump upward between platforms on a course that is identical for everyone in the arena.
- 02
Chained clean jumps build a combo. Contact with a hazard breaks it.
- 03
The run ends when you fall or are hit. Height and combo make the score.

Way Up rules
- Jump from platform to platform, upward — the course is identical for every player in the arena.
- Clean consecutive jumps build a combo; touching a hazard breaks it.
- Falling or getting hit ends the run.
- Height plus combo makes the score; highest at arena close wins.
Exact point values are shown on the rules screen inside the app before you enter an arena — the app is always the authoritative rule book.
How to get better at Way Up
Three things that move a score in this arena specifically. If a tip would work in any game, it is not really a tip.
Look one platform ahead
Watching your own character is the beginner's mistake. The information you need is where you are going, not where you are.
Protect the combo
A broken chain costs more than a slow section. When a jump looks marginal, waiting a beat is almost always the higher-scoring choice.
Learn the course, not the run
The layout comes from the arena seed, so the hazards are in the same places for everyone. Recognising a section you have seen before is worth real height.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the course random in Way Up?
No. It is generated from the arena's seed, which means every player in the match climbs the same course with hazards in the same positions. Nobody gets an easier route.
What ends a run?
Falling or hitting a hazard. Your score is what you had accumulated at that point, so a cautious high climb can beat a fast one that ended early.
